Michael Gross comes from one of the most famous winemaking families in southern Styria, but with Vino Gross he and his wife Maria have opened a completely new chapter – across the border, in the Slovenian Haloze and Štajerska vineyards.

The vineyards are located on steep, often terraced slopes that have been cultivated for centuries. Here, old vines grow on barren soils that offer the potential for the finest, mineral-rich wines. With great care, organic farming, and extensive manual labor, elegant, clear wines are created that embody the coolness and spiciness of the Alps-Adriatic region. In the cellar, Michael's work is minimally invasive: spontaneous fermentation, long aging on the lees, and time over technology.

Vino Gross stands for purist, single-origin wines – precise, complex, and with alpine elegance. Anyone seeking to experience Furmint, Sauvignon Blanc, and the like at their finest will find what they're looking for here.
