Flavors and style
Hrdza is an expressive orange wine based on Welschriesling, Riesling, and Veltliner. The nose reveals dried apricots, orange zest, herbal tea, and a hint of nuts. The palate is grippy and complex – with a prominent tannin structure, salty minerality, and fine tannins. Hrdza means "rust" – a reference to its color and character: raw, honest, and uncompromising.
Terroir and cellar work
The grapes come from organically farmed vineyards around Svätý Jur in Slovakia, at the foot of the Little Carpathians. The region is characterized by mineral gravel and clay soils. After 24 days of maceration, the wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation in used oak barrels, is aged unfiltered, unfined, and with minimal use of sulfur – artisanal, natural, and full of character.

Ideal for hearty dishes: pumpkin dishes, tagine, fermented vegetables, grilled chicken, or mature cheese. It also makes an exciting pairing partner for dishes with oriental spices or soy sauce.
