Flavors and style

The 2022 Chardonnay from Loigi Wines is precise, juicy, and balanced. Ripe apple, citrus zest, white flowers, and a hint of hazelnut unfold on the nose. On the palate, it's creamy and fresh at the same time, with fine acidity and subtle spice. A restrained Chardonnay that combines elegance and structure—straightforward, clear, yet profound.

Terroir and cellar work

The grapes come from biodynamically farmed vineyards near Znojmo in southern Moravia, on loess and granite soils. Harvested by hand, the wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation in neutral wooden barrels or amphorae, depending on the parcel. The wine matures for several months on the fine lees, is not filtered or fined, and only minimally sulfurized – a natural wine, carefully vinified, and with a distinctive character.

Fits

It pairs perfectly with grilled fish, polenta with mushrooms, fresh pasta with lemon butter, or artichokes. It also makes a versatile accompaniment to light meat dishes or mild Asian cuisine, with its clear structure and delicate texture.
