Flavors and style
The 2011 Pinot Noir Selekcija demonstrates how much tranquility and character a mature wine can exude. The nose reveals dried red fruits, a hint of undergrowth, herbs, and a touch of smoke. On the palate, it is lean, precise, and very clear, with restrained fruit, fine acidity, and well-integrated tannins. Not a powerhouse, but a wine that scores with subtlety and depth—calm, elegant, and very harmonious.
Terroir and cellar work
The grapes come from organically cultivated vineyards in Moslavina, Croatia. There they grow on sandy-loam soils in a warm climate with cool nights – ideal for fresh, elegant wines. In the cellar, Ivan Kosovec works entirely naturally: with spontaneous fermentation, without filtration or fining. The wine matures in used wooden barrels, which add structure without masking the fruit.

A gentle accompaniment to poultry, game dishes with delicate sauces, roasted mushrooms, or mature mountain cheese. It's also a harmonious choice for vegetable dishes with roasted aromas or herbs—when something more refined is desired.
