Flavors and style
The Concubine White 2023 offers a seductive aroma of ripe stone fruit, citrus, apple peel, and white blossoms, complemented by a hint of herbal spice and fine tannins. On the palate, it's juicy, slightly grippy, and pleasantly dry, yet never overpowering, but elegantly restrained. A fresh, easy-drinking natural wine with an invigorating texture and a touch of funk—perfect for curious newcomers and experienced drinkers alike.
Terroir and cellar work
The wine comes from the Palatinate region, specifically from Großkarlbach, where Georg Lingenfelder, now the 14th generation, works with great intuition and craftsmanship. The grapes grow on sandy loam with limestone elements – organically farmed, selectively harvested. Fermented spontaneously in the cellar, unfined, unfiltered, and minimally sulfurized. Aging takes place in used oak and stainless steel, with a great deal of tranquility and a feeling for the balance of fruit and structure.
Fits
Ideal with light summer dishes, Mediterranean cuisine, roasted vegetables, fresh salads, or simply on its own on the terrace. It's also a delightful addition to Asian dishes with lime or fresh coriander. Versatile, uncomplicated, always a little different – like a good supporting character that becomes the main character.
Contains sulfites.
