Flavors and style
The Concubine Rosé 2023 offers aromas of red currants, rosehip, pomegranate, and dried herbs. On the palate, it's dry, lively, and delicately spicy, with a delicate tannin structure and a salty minerality on the finish. Not a sweet rosé kitsch, but a serious, light-footed natural wine with bite, grip, and character—playful, but not arbitrary.
Terroir and cellar work
The grapes come from Georg Lingenfelder's organically farmed vineyards in Großkarlbach (Palatinate), grown on limestone-clay soils. The wine is fermented spontaneously, sometimes with a short maceration period, and aged in used oak and stainless steel. Unfiltered, unfined, with minimal sulfur addition—vinified with the aim of viewing rosé not as a byproduct, but as a wine of equal character.
Fits
It pairs wonderfully with grilled vegetables, tapas, summer pasta dishes, or ceviche. It's also a great accompaniment to Middle Eastern or Levantine cuisine—or enjoyed neat in the glass as the sun slowly sets. A rosé with attitude, not just for summer.
Contains sulfites.
