Martin Vajčner
Znojmo, Czech Republic

Martin Vajčner cultivates around 8 hectares in the Znojmo wine region (Czech Republic) using a certified organic approach on several smaller sites, each with its own soil profile and microclimate.
His philosophy: terroir-focused wines with minimal intervention – hand-picked grapes, spontaneous fermentation, no filtration, no additives, sometimes without added sulfur. In the cellar, he relies on long maceration (several hours to months), sometimes in kvevri, traditional amphorae, often with foot-treading instead of modern destemmers. The wines mature on their own lees, sometimes in acacia and oak barrels, often on fine sediment – powerful, authentic, and with clearly recognizable origins. Vajčner's soil management is sustainable: He promotes biodiversity, utilizes green practices, and returns pomace to the vineyards as natural fertilizer.
The result is vibrant, multifaceted natural wines that embody the Znojem terroir – clear, honest, and with great expressiveness.
